Dear Friends,
As the pandemic seems to be moving into our rear view mirror and life begins to return to In-Person celebration and gatherings, it is my hope that you will find a way to our Synagogue services at 570 W Walnut St. Long Beach, NY during the holidays for the recital of the Yizkor Memorial Prayer. Sermon approx. 11:00am followed by Yizkor.
If for whatever reason, you won't be attending services that day in-person, I am offering to serve as your proxy and representative in offering the Yizkor prayer for your loved ones in our Shul on your behalf.
With a Torah scroll in hand, I will pronounce the name of each departed loved one you ask me to remember for you. In concert thereof, I would encourage you to utilize the morning hours of the final day of the holiday as a time to reflect deeply upon the memories, teachings and legacies of those whose names I will be invoking on your behalf.
Please use the form below to provide me with the names (Hebrew, if known) of your loved ones, as well as their father’s and mother’s names. In mentioning them during Yizkor, I will pray to be a worthy messenger for those who will have entrusted me with this awesome task.
May the souls of our righteous loved ones achieve an aliya (ascendancy) in the heavens above.
With best wishes for a healthy, joyous and uplifting holiday to you and yours...
Rabbi Eli Goodman
PS – As it is customary to give Tzedakah in conjunction with Yizkor, your charity will be used to help those in need. An opportunity to fulfill this Mitzvah is available on the form below. Please know, however, that a donation is not mandatory for the submission of names as described above.
PPS - If you have a prayer-book at home, please recite Yizkor at home as well (page 338 in the Chabad Siddur).
